Consultation — South Australia
Two well attended consultation meetings have been held in Adelaide. The meetings were attended participants from independent and state primary and secondary schools, tertiary institutions, the Department of Education and Children's Services, the Royal Geographical Society of SA, academic geographers and retired persons.
The first consultation meeting held on Monday 1 December 2008 discussed a number of key questions regarding the national geography curriculum and their reports were used to inform the writing of the first draft of the project.
The second consultation meeting held on Tuesday 31 March 2009 discussed the Background Report and in particularly alternative ways of organising a national geography curriculum.
People who attended the consultation forums as well as those who submitted online and paper-based submissions are thanked for the valuable feedback they provided to the writers.
